Yalu And The Stinky Stink is the second book of Yalu’s adventure series. In this thrilling adventure our heroine is now living the dream in her very own forever home which happens to be a puppy palace. There is a comfortable couch along with plenty of toys. What else could a Golden Retriever possibly want?
Missing from this perfect life are her people. A Golden Retriever or any puppy in general, cannot have a good times without people.
The story is still written from the dog’s point of view. I like seeing the world through Yalu’s eyes and feel good pretty good about capturing Yalu’s emotions in the short clip.
I also like the way my artist Tielman did the pictures. I gave him a lot of details of what I wanted and then just let him go from there. At first I asked for an Yalu. He wanted to keep her in that stage between a puppy and a dog. I gave and the end result worked for me.
Yalu And The Stinky Stink

Life is so much better when a pet not only chooses you, but also comes equipped with Jedi mind control powers. When our previous Golden Retriever, Chelsea, passed away, my sister and I wanted to see a variety of dogs when we traveled to a kennel in Deerfield, New Hampshire. We specifically asked the owner if we could see dogs with a lot of energy and personality.
The first contestant was a Chocolate Lab. This little guy wanted to show us how quick he could cut corners. He sprinted around the room like a racecar and forgot about the two people who came to see him.
A Yellow Lab came next and he probably knew the Chocolate Lab because they had a grand old time playing together. Once again, two people sitting on separate couches felt forgotten.
Okay, bring out a German Shepherd. Now three dogs are having the time of their lives playing together. As for the two people on the couches, they could wait. Playtime was more important.
I knew a St. Bernard was not going to work. Lori didn’t like drooling dogs and when this puppy grew up, he would be a giant. Still, I wanted to see one so when the St. Bernard showed up, he wanted to party with the Chocolate Lab, Yellow Lab, and the German Shepherd. Why not? They were all having a grand old time—the people could wait.
Next came an attention starved Beagle romped right to Lori. Finally, a dog who noticed people, here was progress and the Beagle had potential. Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoon strip was a Beagle. Lori loved Snoopy so the Beagle took the lead in becoming a Yates dog until he rolled over on his back and nipped away at Lori who could not get her hands near him.
The Chocolate Lab decided there had to be a reason for two strangers being in the room. He decided to pay me visit. Being a playful little guy, he climbed up on my lap, pulled out his paw, and scratched my left arm. That was his way of saying hello.
One look at Lori told me that none of the dogs in the room stood out. I asked the owner if she would bring out a Golden Retriever.
The lady brought out a very shy Golden that she put on the floor. The pup looked at her kennelmates playing in the room and refused to join them. She eyed me and then Lori before making her move. Calmly, the Golden Retriever walked over to the couch next to my sister, avoiding the other dogs playing an intense game of tag, and tried climbing up next to Lori. Being a small pup, she could not get her hand legs up on her own so Lori helped her.
The dog widened her eyes and applied classic Jedi mind control. Using her tail because that’s how Jedi dogs control everything, the puppy dog projected her thoughts, “You do not like these dogs.”
To which Lori and I repeated with glazed eyes, “We do not like these dogs.”
“You want a Golden Retriever.”
“We want a Golden Retriever.”
“You want the Golden Retriever sitting on the couch.”
“We want the Golden Retriever sitting on the couch.”
“You will spoil the Golden Retriever and give her whatever she wants.”
To which Lori and I came out of our trances and said to the dog, “Well, duh!”
“Tell the owner you want the Golden Retriever and you will take her home with you right now.”
The owner, most likely immune to Jedi mind tricks was stunned. “You said you wanted an outgoing dog. You picked the shiest one here.”
Hey, once a Golden Retriever lover, always a Golden Retriever lover.
I’m glad Yalu came with Jedi mind control powers and a whole lot of cute. She would need it for her upcoming meeting with DiMamma who would not put up with any Jedi shenanigans.

Here is segment of Yalu And The Puppy Room where tough times fall upon our cute fuzzy heroine. How bad has Yalu’s bad luck gotten in her kennel? It is has fallen well beyond the point of silly where visitors are choosing the Chihuahua pups over her. Chihuahua pups! The horror, oh the horror of being an eight week Golden Retrieving puppy dog who has to take a back seat to Chihuahua pups.
How can so many people come to the special place called the puppy room not want a cute brown fuzzy Golden Retriever like her? What is there not to absolutely love? She has the fully puppy package and is currently the dog on the do not choose list. Once again, sigh.

Meet Sue. She is the owner of the Royal Puppy Club—you would not know that unless you looked at Yalu’s pedigree certificate that listed her royal lineage.
Sue plays a central role in Yalu And The Puppy Room. As the kennel’s owner, it is her job to raise, feed, care for, and find forever homes for the puppies under her care. Since the book is written from the point of view of the dog and the dog does not receive a name until the end of the story, Sue calls our heroine Little One and probably calls all the dogs Little One.
Sue is the person everyone needs at some point in their life. She offers a spark of hope that things will get better. She is the one who will tap your shoulder and tell you to perk up. I think of her as a mentor who is at the right place at the right time for a special dog in need.
There is a moment in the story when Sue and the dog have a victory celebration. Little One has found a family because of Sue’s advice in getting her to stand out from the crowd. I almost wanted to have Sue whisper, “You did it, girl.”
Hopefully, the “you did it girl” gets implied in the story. There is only one way for you to find out. Become the proud owner of Yalu And The Puppy Room. For the amazingly low price of $2.99, an e-book for your reading pleasure awaits at Amazon.com. All you have to do is be brave, be bold and click the the book cover below.

Welcome to boat dog. I found the short video on iFunny. I have the app on my iPad and use the program to find inspiring ideas and to get the “Ha” ones needs during the day.
What does boat dog do? Boat dog sits on a boat floats across a pool. If you are into dogs, the two word lyrics are enthralling, beguiling, riveting, absorbing, engrossing. The video has everything a dog lover needs: a pool, a flotation device, and a puppy dog having a dog gone good time.
If you are a cat person, you will probably look at boat dog and think, “yeaaah” and move on with your life–hey, that is what cat people do. Why do cat people do that? Simple, they know full well that a kitty would never get anywhere near a swimmies pool, yet along into a flotation device and get pushed across a pool. Besides, “boat cat, boat cat, boat cat, boat, boat, boat cat” just does not carry itself as well as boat dog.
Is what I am writing silly? Of course it is, but this is my blog and I can be as silly as I want so there! All I have to do is make sure I am entertaining and that I properly transition to my opening hook to the closing where I discuss what is missing in your life.
“Wait a second,” you, kind reader, might be wondering. “What could I possibly be missing in my life?” In order to have a boat dog, you need a swimmies pool, lots of water, a flotation device, and a dog.
Now all those items might be slightly beyond your budget. If so, you can spend a mere $4.98 and join the unique adventures of a Golden Retriever named Yalu. Yes, friends and neighbors you can be the proud owners of a brilliant written, yes brilliantly written adventure series about a Golden Retriever named Yalu.
In her first adventure, Yalu And The Puppy Room, Yalu wants to find a forever home and runs into so many troubles–more troubles than any dog should have to endure. In Yalu And The Stinky Stink, Yalu meets a skunk and discovers why a puppy dog should avoid such critters. Enough of me yapping, time for you, kind reader to take action. Be brave, be bold and click those banners on the right.
What could be more exciting than a puppies going down a slide? Let me give this concept some thought. Humm, lots of puppies + slide = cute. Okay, I am back. After some serious deliberations, there is nothing better than puppies going down a slide.
This video was exciting enough to get Mr. Wesley, the resident Golden Retriever, to get up and take a look at the computer during the puppy action. That was a first. Mr. Wesley has always had little regard for anything coming from a computer. Computers and the internet as a whole take away the most important undertaking a people person can do, give him attention. The people person commentary from the video must have motivated him enough to get up from the floor and sit next to me.
Imagine being one of those puppies sent out on a job interview. You go to a special place to meet a family and you have got the full puppy package going on, you a cute, brown and furry. The family even wants a Golden Retriever, which you happen to be. What could possibly go wrong?
Well something terrible goes horribly wrong and the only way you, kind reader, can find out is to become the proud owner of Yalu And The Puppy Room. Within this action packed … What’s that? You want the book right now? Well good news, through the modern miracle of the internet, all you have to do is click the banner to the right where you will magically be transported to Amazon.com where for the stunningly low price of $2.99, an e-book copy of Yalu And The Puppy Room can be immediately downloaded to your computer, smartphone or tablet. How’s that for immediate service. Instead of me going on and on about how wonderful the book is, you can be brave, be bold and find out for yourself and find out how a Golden Retriever overcomes rejection and finds a forever home.
How does a puppy dog get outside the dog house? Mr. Wesley does so with a little help with his unc. This Golden Retriever puppy dog starts his day by waking up and giving his unc those puppy dog eye saying he needs to go outside. So what happens? Storming down teh stairs at full speed. He and his unc go outside and he, Mr. Wesley that is, and does his doggie business.
Now if all goes well, there will be playtime outside. Sometimes, well a lot of time, his unc does not understand and they go to the backyard.
When they go inside, Mr. Wesley needs his unc to get some cheese because he, Mr. Wesley that is, has a whole lot of whining and places his chin on the side of his unc’s chair. Flashing the puppy dog eyes will work, it just take time, sometimes a whole lot of time. When his puppy trick does work, then a trip to the basement occurs with a door opening up to the magic of the backyard.
What happens in the backyard? Why double secret ball which is the best most wonderful thing a puppy dog like Mr. Wesley can do. Double secret ball in the backyard involves a whole lot of run, run, run at full speed. Think of a horse galloping by when Mr. Wesley go after a thrown ball.
The only problem would be the a certain Golden Retriever puppy dog gets tired. When that happens, he goes after the closest ball instead of the one thrown. Getting the closest ball twice means Mr. Wesley needs to go inside and take a break, rest, then they find a way of getting back outside for more double secret ball action.
How can life get any better than being outside the dog house? Why reading a good book. Here’s an idea, read an exciting story about a puppy dog looking for a forever home to someone special or better yet, have someone special read such a story story to you.
Yalu And The Puppy Room has a whole lot of excitement packed within a wonderfully illustrated pictures. You, kind reader, will laugh, you will cry, you will wonder why, WHY does such a puppy dog get neglected for so long. Drama! Sheer drama is the answer. Be brave, be bold and find out what happens next with Yalu And The Puppy Room.
So, there i was, being cute brown and fuzzy, laying on the carpet in my unc’s bedroom having sweet puppy dog dreams of eating Pupperoni sticks. That was when my unc wakes up. He tells me we are going outside so naturally I get all excited by running around in circles. I run, run, run down the steps with my unc following. He opens the door to the basement and I run, run, run downstairs.
Unc opens the door and I charge outside. A ball get thrown. I run, run, run after the thrown ball enjoying every moment of the chase. I get the ball and only bring it back part of the way because I want my unc to get his exercise too. Well, my unc has another ball that he throws. I go run, run, run after the thrown ball.
I have a great deal of fun playing double secret ball in the backyard with my unc. He throws, I sort of fetch. My unc then calls me, “a somewhat Golden Retriever” and says I should bring the back to him. That is not how I play double secret ball. Unc needs to do some walking. I do a whole lot more running around the back than he does.
Then, when I get tired, I sit on the grass and take a rest. That was when my unc takes out a folding chair and reads a book. What do I do? I sit next to my unc panting and when I feel rested, does my unc want to resume double secret ball? No, he keeps reading his book. I have no idea why books are so important people. Can my unc pet a book? No! Can he play double secret ball with a book? No! All books have are silly words and pictures.
Now I am supposed to tell you, kind reader, about two books my unc wrote about a puppy dog like me named Yalu. I have never even met this Yalu puppy dog, but she was a smart Golden Retriever like me I guess for books, they might, might mind you, be interesting.
Find out for yourself by clicking on the banner to the right and becoming the proud owner of Yalu And The Puppy Room and Yalu And The Stinky Stink. Be brave, be bold and find out why this Yalu puppy dog is so dog gone interesting.
